How Ghee is made? Golden colored Ghee is prepared by melting and simmering unsalted butter until all the water evaporates and the milk solids settle at the bottom. The remaining butter oil is very stable, giving it a high smoke point which makes it an excellent choice to use for frying and sautéing and it can be stored without refrigeration for several months.

Other Name fof Ghee: Indian Clarified Butter, Seafood Butter, Drawn Butter, Butter Oil, Ghee Butter or Anhydrous Milk Fat

Note: Ghee is a dairy product and as such it is gluten-free.

Ghee Uses and Benefits:

  • Best for cooking. Ghee is one of the best oils for cooking. It stimulates digestive fire (or Agni) according to Ayurveda. It has a very high smoke point (~485°F) and its chemical structure does not change at high heat. When you cook with ghee, there is no hissing, popping or splattering. It produces sweet aroma when heated. You use less than half of other oils and it enhances the flavor of food.
  • Sattvic Food (food that promote health, vitality, strength and tranquillity). Cow Ghee is considered a sattvic food in Ayurveda. Cow milk has the essence of the grass and plants, and cow ghee possesses the essence of cow milk.
  • Food for Optimum Health. Ghee is a nutrient dense food and contains healthy fat soluble vitamins which aids in the absorption of nutrients in foods and are essential for good health.
  • No Harmful Trans Fats. Ghee does not contain harmful trans fats or hydrogenated oils which can cause heart disease and many other serious health problems.
  • Skin and Hair Benefits. Ghee is an ideal moisturizer for very sensitive skin and mature skin. It is rich in vitamin A and healthy fats that can help regenerate skin and prevent / remove wrinkles.
  • Hair Benefits. Ghee is an effective pre-shampoo or overnight hair mask. It helps remove dandruff, and gives hair a healthy shine and bounce.

Ghee vs. Butter: Ghee has slightly alkalizing effect on the body whereas butter has a slightly acidifying effect.

Here are some REAL customer reviews:

“Excellent product!”

I’m somewhat of a foodie/food snob and this ghee is excellent as well as containing all the health benefits that ghee should contain. The cows are grassfed which means more of the fat burning, cancer fighting CLA, they use non-homogenized milk (which is linked to heart disease) and tastes amazing! I’ll be buying more of this!

“Good stuff”

I don’t know if I have a lot of credibility to review this, since this is the first time I tried ghee. I loved the booklet that comes with the purchase and assures that this is 100% grass-fed ghee, which was my main consideration. It’s great for cooking, since it doesn’t smoke or burn even on high temperatures.

“Great for cooking”

I’ve never used GHEE before and debated about buying it because of the price. My husband actually saw it in my unfinished cart and included it with my Valentine’s Day present even though he had no clue what it was. I’ve used it to cook four times now and because of it’s very high smoke point, it adds a wonderful taste to the food. Best asparagus I’ve ever had!

“Watch out Popeye – Olive Oil is in trouble!”

Had read about Ghee, aka clarified butter, and decided to try this product. The Ghee comes nicely packaged in a jar and looks similar to whipped butter. Have been using Ghee for past few weeks in place of olive oil for sautéing from onions, garlic assorted vegetables and chicken, with great results. Ghee imparts a delicious mild buttery taste to the food, but unlike regular butter or Olive Oil is nearly impossible to burn. (Smoke point of this Ghee is 485 degrees F compared to high 300’s for Olive oil and high 200’s for butter.)

Because has the consistency of whipped butter, its is very easy scrape onto a teaspoon and control the amounts of fat you add to the pan, unlike Olive oil which you can tend to pour on. It melts quickly and has excellent coverage in the pan.

I highly recommend this product and for me, consider this to be a new kitchen staple that, (apologies to Popeye) will replace Olive Oil for any future sautéing.

“A better butter, the sacred GHEE”

A fab natural source for CLA as well as vitamin D, A and K2. Ghee is superb for cooking, with a smoke point of 485 degrees Fahrenheit. The taste is sublime! Good for you and tastes good too…. Easy decision from where I stand.

“great for paleo diet”

I just started paleo and ghee is highly praised and recommended on the diet. This product and supplier were the only ones I would trust and use.

“Why did I wait so long to try this?”

As a seasoned cook for many decades, I was well aware of ghee but have never purchased it. I have made my own clarified butter, of course, but not until I stumbled across a recipe that called for ghee that led me to this brand did I finally decide to give it a try. Frankly, it was the company’s five generations of pride in their products that sold it for me – and I was not let down. I was impressed with this product for its richness, its wholesomeness and its quality. And the service of the company was a real bonus. I will be a repeat customer.

“Why haven’t I gotten this before?”

I have been living a Paleo lifestyle, and have seen reviews for this product by various Paleo bloggers. I finally decided to give it a try after not liking the other ghees in my supermarket that much. The texture and flavor are much richer! I use it to fry my eggs in every morning, and I rubbed it over a whole chicken to roast. The flavor was amazing! I will not buy another kind!

“Finaly found a pure ghee”

This ghee is awesome. Initially, we ordered one and we found it so good that this time we ordered two. It tastes really nice. Comparing to other ghee this looks better (color is yellow as compare to white on other) , tastes better and have a great aroma.
I would highly recommend this if someone is looking for a pure ghee.

“Great Ghee”

This is great ghee — not only is it naturally, ethically sourced (win!), it’s excellent for your health and rich in CLA & vitamins (win!), and it tastes very, very good (win!). One of my favorite ways to use ghee is with roasted sweet potatoes —

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

2-3 lbs sweet potatoes, chopped into bite-sized pieces
1 onion or bulb of fennel, diced
3 Tbsp ghee, melted
Salt & pepper to taste

Mix everything into a 9×13 baking dish.
Bake for 45-60 min (mix around half-way through) until tender.

“Best Ghee I’ve found!”

I’ve tried several Ghee’s and found this brand suggested on a blog. On the blog she mentioned that it is cheaper to buy direct with Pure Indian Foods (if one wants more than a small bottle to check out via Amazon)…which I thought was cool. It is an expensive Ghee. But, overall I’m glad to find a brand that is organic, from grass-fed cows and has such GOOD FLAVOR. Now that I’ve tried it and loved it, I’ll be ordering the bigger jars, directly from Pure Indian Foods.

“Real Deal”

I swore that I would NEVER allow anything into this house accept for Butter…..until now. This stuff is wonderful & delicious. It IS butter, but better for you, with healthy benefits. My 15 year old son, who is in Sports & watches what he eats, will once again allow his sandwiches (one slice anyway)to be buttered with Ghee. He wouldn’t allow butter on his bread before Ghee. The whole family is liking it. Thank you! Already ordering more!

“Ghee vs Butter”

I NEVER write reviews, so the product was good enough to inspire me. I heard about ghee years ago but didn’t buy it until this past week. I had read that it has many more vitamins and minerals as butter as well as some necessary fats that are not in “regular” butter. So, I opted for this ghee because all of my research suggested that this brand was the best. I first used it as creamer for my coffee. I know it sounds disgusting, but i blended it with a hand blender. It tasted AMAZING. Creamier than cream and much better for you. The second time was on top of my chicken. It was like butter, but it tasted healthier and fuller. I had been using butter in this way for years, and this texture, depth, and richness blows butter away. I wish I had tried it years ago when I first heard of it. A must…
